We have been tracking the ZTE Nubia Z17 since its initial whisperings and leaks on benchmark sites. Recently there were leaked renders of the device and it got listed on the Chinese certification board TENAA’s website. Now today it has been revealed that ZTE plans to launch the smartphone on the First of June which can be gleaned from a recently leaked image carrying that date along with the title NubiaImagination. Yes, the aI was highlighted in the signature red of the brand’s capacitive touch switches.

Apart from this recent pick on AI, several new renders of the ZTE Nubia Z17 surfaced showing the device from all sides. These new renders show the device in a glossy blue finish.

From the above images, we can see that the ZTE Nubia Z17 is most likely picking up on the latest design trend of having a metal spar sandwiched between two glass elements that compose the front and back of the device.

From earlier leaks by various sources, it is expected that the ZTE Nubia Z17 will feature Qualcomm’s current champion Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with up to 8 GB of RAM. The device is tipped to carry UFS 2.0 complying memory chips for faster internal storage performance. The ZTE Nubia Z17 comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080 x1920) display with minimal side bezels. For the camera, it is tipped that the dual camera on the back is composed of a 23-megapixel sensor and a 12-megapixel sensor. The selfie shooter up front is a 16-megapixel sensor. To power all this hardware the device has a non-removable 3100mAh battery pack.

Apart from all this, the device is likely to be at least IP 67 certified for dust and water ingress protection. In a leaked video a device that looks like the upcoming Nubia flagship is shown running fine while it is submerged under water. This might make the device even capable of carrying the IP 69 certification.
