Budget smartphones have grown increasingly cheaper and more powerful over the past few years. ZTE in collaboration with AT&T Prepaid has now launched the ZTE Blade Spark, an ultra-budget offering costing just $99.
As for the specification of the device, the phone sports a 5.5-inch 720p(HD) display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. It is powered by the the Snapdragon 425 SoC, which is a 64-bit CPU consisting of the Cortex A53 clocked in at 1.4GHz. This is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage, which can be extended upto 128GB via microSD.
Backing all this up is a fairly sized 3,140mAh battery. The ZTE Blade Spark features a 13MP rear facing camera along with a 5MP selfie shooter. Camera is a department that companies tend to compromise when on a budget. The smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat and houses a fingerprint scanner on the back.
With devices like the ZTE Blade Spark and the Moto E4 Plus, we can see how powerful budget smartphones have become. With standards rising and the prices dropping, the budget and mid-tier smartphone industry is facing a new high.
The ZTE Blade Spark is available for purchase online at AT&T carrier as well as in offline stores.
