We have been hearing rumours about the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 for some time now, successor to the bezel-less concept Mi Mix smartphone. The Mi Mix 2 is most likely going to cement the presence of bezel-less devices into the mainstream buyers mind. With that in mind, it is likely that the Mi Mix 2 would be continuing the pioneering work that its predecessor started coupled with a few of its own innovations.

Now it seems there has been a leak on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo which alleges that as of yet un-launched bezel-less phone by Xiaomi would sport a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. This puts the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 squarely in the sights of this leak as the company does not have any bezel-less devices in the pipes till now save the Mi Mix concept line. This would make the Chinese company the third player in the smartphone world to adopt this trend of 18:9 (2:1) aspect ratio displays. The first company to launch a device with such an aspect ratio was LG with its G6 flagship dubbing it the FullVision display; followed by Samsung who launched the Galaxy S8 family with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio display.

The main reason why we feel the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will bear this type of display is because this allows the phone to have a larger viewing space without physically increasing the display dimensions themselves. Which also serves the purpose of the handset because it is a bezel-less design and it would make for a pleasant viewing experience.

Xiaomi is also believed to be packing the Mi Mix 2 with a display integrated fingerprint sensor, dual rear cameras and several other interesting features.
