With every flagship reveal, come leaks of their alleged specifications, performance and design. This is pretty much par for the course these days with every minutiae being projected, analysed and dissected by the ever eager enthusiasts. Today’s leaks are courtesy Weibo where recently someone put up shots of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6’s concept renders. Thus, giving us the first tease of what the final hardware might look like.
Since its emergence as an upstart selling flagship hardware packed smartphones at a fraction of the cost, Xiaomi is now know for releasing some of the most daring devices on the market. Keeping in line, it seems that the upcoming Mi 6 would be featuring a dual-rear camera package flanked by the dual-LED flash. The device in the leaked renders showcase a silver-gray coloured and what looks likely to be the ceramic variant of the smartphone. From these renders one can see the absolute minimal bezels present with an absolute focus on high screen-to-body-ratio in the upcoming smartphone. It seems that Xiaomi is integrating the fingerprint scanner into a physical home button up front as there seems to be no provision for the same on the rear unless Xiaomi spring a surprise.
The current confirmed specifications of the various variants of the Mi 6 are, a Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6 GB of RAM at the highest end. Storage variants with the following capacity are expected, 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. The highest end variant is believed to have a ceramic chassis like the preceding flagship Mi 5. The rear camera sensor is SONY’s IMX400 with 5-axis optical image stabilisation support. The pricing of the Mi 6 family is to commence from ~¥1999 ($290) to no more than ~¥2899 ($420) depending on the amount of RAM and internal storage option you are getting.
