Xiaomi India has just tweeted the launch of a mystery device on November 2. The company’s India head, Manu Jain, posted a teaser that shows a lightning bolt symbol and beneath it a tagline #YourBestSelfie is visible. What’s interesting is that Jain said this is the launch of a brand new series. So, that throws assumptions of a Redmi Note 5A launch out of the window. The Redmi Note 5A launched in China last week. But it is part of the Redmi series which is already there in India.
From the looks of it, the teaser shows two outstanding features of the phone. One is a fast charging feature denoted by the lightning bolt. The other is a better selfie camera. All recent Xiaomi devices have lagged behind other competitors in these two departments. Another potential candidate for November 2 is thought to be the Redmi Note 5. The phone has passed TENAA certification but this also seems unlikely. The Redmi Note series is very popular in India and even if it is on the cards it is too early. A December launch would be more likely.

The company has ramped up its presence in India which is its second key market after China. The Mi MIX 2 is a flagship with a bezel-less display. The company also announced that it sold 4 million devices during the festive Diwali season.
