Xiaomi is one of the first Android manufacturers to start the bezel-less trend with its MI Mix. Finally, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun shared a post on Weibo which confirms that successor of the MI Mix would be launched later, this year.
Mi Mix 2 is one of the most anticipated smartphones for its bezel-less design. The upcoming MI Mix 2 is rumoured to come with 93% screen to body ratio, which is a little higher than the 91.3% of the MI Mix. It also expected to come with a curved AMOLED Display.
Meanwhile, CEO also confirms that they have collaborated with Phillipe Starck who designed the MI Mix previously. Considering the Last year’s November launch date of Mi Mix and latest rumors hinting at the launch, The uncovering of Mi Mix 2 could happen in Q4 of this year.
Expected Specs of MI MIX 2:
Based on previous leaks and rumours It is expected to have same 6.4 inches AMOLED Display with QHD resolution, but with an 18:9 Aspect Ratio. It will feature a top of line Snapdragon chipset SD 835/836 with up to 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB of Internal storage. MI Mix 2 is going to take the Bezel-less game to the next level with its 93% Body to screen ratio. It remains interesting to see, how Xiaomi implements this year. It is also most likely to feature a fingerprint sensor placed under the screen, rather than on the back of the smartphone.
Regarding cameras, it may come equipped with a dual camera setup at rear similar to what we saw in MI 6. It may also feature a 16 Megapixel front facing camera on the bottom part, much like Mi Mix. While battery capacity is rumoured to be around 4000 mAh, Nothing is confirmed yet.
It is not clear, in What countries Xiaomi will launch the MI MIX 2, along with China. Like last year, Mi Mix was only available in few countries.
