Dates for the WWDC 2017 are officially out. Apple has never announced the dates for the World Wide Devoloper Conference this early (the previous record being April 4).The WWDC is all set to take place on June 5 2017.
WWDC has predominantly been a software event in the past and Apple is expected to announce the next series of updates to iOS, MacOS, watchOS and tvOS.
WWDC, as the name suggests is a Devoloper centric event and Apple has published a write up on how devolopers need to combine technology and the arts to advance the world.
“TECHNOLOGY ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH. TECHNOLOGY MUST INTERSECT WITH THE LIBERAL ARTS AND THE HUMANITIES, TO CREATE NEW IDEAS AND EXPERIENCES THAT PUSH SOCIETY FORWARD. THIS SUMMER WE BRING TOGETHER THOUSANDS OF BRILLIANT MINDS REPRESENTING MANY DIVERSE PERSPECTIVES, PASSIONS, AND TALENTS TO HELP US CHANGE THE WORLD.”
All this means that you’ll have to pay $1,599 for a ticket only to enter a lottery which means you may or may not make it. Registration for tickets opens on March 27th.
This year, WWDC is held at a new location:the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. The last event held here was in the year 2002.
As it’s done in the past, Apple intends to live-stream parts of the conference through its website and WWDC apps. Apple’s events are always worth waiting for as they are well charted out and always contain a few surprise packages.
