Vivo has unveiled another smartphone as a part of the Y Series of smartphones. The Vivo Y79 is a midrange offering from the company that brings some exiting features to the table. As expected, the company has gone in for an 18:9 display along with other features like face wake that the company advertises to work flawlessly.
The Vivo Y79 sports a 5.99-inch Full View display with HD+ resolution(720×1440 pixels). It is an IPS incell display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection along with 2.5D glass on top. The smartphone is powered by the extremely popular Snapdragon 625 SoC, which is an octa-core chipset clocked in at 2GHz. This is backed up by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage which can be expandable upto 256GB via a microSD card.
As for optics, Vivo has really focused on the front camera. There is a 24-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The camera has good capability with features like ‘Moonlight Glow’. A 16MP rear camera is present with dual LED flash.
The Vivo Y79 is fuelled by a 3225mAh battery and runs on Android Nougat out-of-the box. The smartphone is priced at CNY 2,498 (approx Rs. 24,500) and is available in Matte Black, Rose Gold and Champagne finishes.
