A few days back, Google released the Android 7.1.2 update for the Google Pixel , Pixel XL and other supported devices. The software was tested in beta for quite some time and was tested extensively for the past 3 months.
Some Google Pixel users were experiencing an annoying “Shutdown Bug” and Google had claimed to have fixed the issue with the update.
To recollect, some Pixel devices did not seem to show the battery charge level correctly and unexpectedly shutdown even if the phone had more than 35% battery left. Interestingly, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus were also experiencing similar issues and Apple also swapped batteries for a particular set of serial numbers. Also, Apple released iOS 10.2 and claimed that the software update reduced they occurrence of the issue.
Now that Android 7.1.2 has started rolling out to Pixel devices, users have started reporting that they are no longer affected by the shutdown issue. The software has received good feedback as some people have reported that their phone is doing great after the update.
