OnePlus One

The OnePlus One was a revolutionary device in every single way. In combined the power and features of flagships in a very affordable price. It came with a Snapdragon 801 SoC and even today, many people can be found using the OnePlus One. The device has the right mix of specifications and a strong developer community and that has ensured that the phone has aged very well.

If you are one of those users who still owns a OnePlus one, there is some exciting news for you. Though OnePlus has officially stopped supporting the OnePlus One, the developer community is still working hard to enable the latest version of Android( Android 7.1.2 Nougat) to run on the three year old product.

Sultanxda is a popular developer who is well known for developments to the OnePlus One. He was highly credited for enabling the camera’s on the OnePlus One to record at higher quality. He first unlocked 1080p video recording capabilities for the front camera on the OnePlus One and later¬†upped the ante to 1440p. He also brought 4K recording capabilities for the smartphone in Oxygen OS (the phone was first launched with Cyanogen Mod).

Sultanxda’s unofficial build of Lineage OS 14.1 is based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat and features his custom kernel and camera HAL, much like his previous ROM’s. The advantages include the ability to record slow-mo videos at 1080p 60fps. This ROM also brings 4k video recording capabilities. Other camera features also include Manual Focus Control, Manual ISO and shutter speed control etc. Also, an updater is built into the system settings to provide OTA updates.
