There are a lot of differences between Android and iOS. While iOS boasts of being user-friendly, it lacks a lot of useful features that Android packs. There are many aspects of the Android eco-system, that are alien to iOS users. Now, there is a way that enables iOS users to use an Android phone right from the back of their iPhone. Now, iPhone users can access Android features like multiple sim cards and expandable storage. ESTI Inc. has designed the “Eye phone case”, that literally sticks an Android device on the rear of the iPhone.
The case adds a smartphone which sports a 5-inch AMOLED display powered by a 2.3GHZ quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU. It is backed by a 2800mAh battery. The interesting fact is that this case adds expandable memory up to 256GB, dual SIM slots, a headphone jack as well as wireless charging!
There are two varients of the case, one with a cellular connectivity and one without a cellular connectivity. Interestingly, the company claims that the Android device can make use of the iPhone’s internet connection. These devices are integrated to a certain level and they share the iPhone’s speaker, microphone and cameras.
The “case” runs Android 7.1 Nougat and is retailed at a starting price of $189, while the 4G model sells for $229. That’s quite steep for a case and at the same time is pretty cheap for an android smartphone.
While the idea is very different and unseen before, the case is not very practical for most users today. If iPhone users want to try out Android, there are several budget smartphones which are very good (Like the Moto G5 Plus and the Redmi Note 4). While we highly appreciate the innovation that the product brings with it, we feel that this product is just not for everyone and really does not serve as a case nor a smartphone.
