SONY is slated to launch the Xperia XZs today at a launch event in Delhi, slated to start around 1400 Hours IST. The company had revealed the smartphone in Barcelona during the 2017 Mobile World Congress (MWC) alongside a brace of other smartphones, the Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra.

The Xperia XZs is a compact version of the SONY Xperia Xperia XZ smartphone. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage which is further expandable via microSD cards (up-to 256 GB). The device features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080 x1920) IPS display with SONY’s proprietary Triluminos technology for improved viewing angles and screen legibility even under direct sunlight.

On the camera front, the device is packing a 19-megapixel sensor in the rear with an f/2.0 aperture, laser auto-focus, electronic image stabilisation and LED-flash. The camera is capable of recording video in 4K (3840 x2160) @30fps or HD (1280 x720) @960fps. The selfie camera up-front is a 13-megapixel full-HD capable sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. All this hardware is running off a 2900mAh Li-Ion battery pack which can be topped off via a USB Type-C connector.

The device during its showcase at the MWC was a single-SIM design but the company might release a dual-hybrid-SIM variant for the Indian subcontinent. Finally the smartphone is rocking a close to stock skinned flavour of Android v.7.0, Nougat. It is also rated IP 68 for dust and water resistance respectively. The Xperia XZs would be available in three colours, Black, Warm Silver and Ice Blue.
