Earlier in the month, we had reported on a Polish e-retailer listing two yet unannounced SONY handsets on its site; The G8341 and the G8441. Around the time of the leak, it was speculated that these were the SONY Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact handsets. A mid year refresh of SONY’s existing flagships.

Now the G8341 has surfaced on the Geekbench benchmark database. Listed as the Sony G8141 it is seen equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. Incidentally, on the OS front, it is shown running a build based on Android v.7.1.1, Nougat.

With these specifications, the smartphone puts up scores of ~1919 points and ~6426 points in the single-core and multi-core tests which are within the spectrum for a Snapdragon 835 powered device. Earlier when the SONY G8441 (SONY Xperia XZ1 Compact) was leaked on AnTuTu, it was listed running Android O so there is a possibility for the G8341 too to come with the same.

Apart from the information gleaned from Geekbench, the G8341 is expected to feature a 5.2-inch full-HD display at the least. The speculative pricing for the handset is expected to be ~$860 (~Rs 55,200) mark. In Japan, the smartphone has a model number of SO-01K, the Xperia XZ sports the model number SO-01J so it can almost be confirmed that the former is the Xperia XZ1.
