Samsung Galaxy Note 8

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was globally launched last month and it was liked by many. Following the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco last year, it was expected that Samsung would rename the Note line but that was not the case. Now, Samsung is all set to release it’s latest flagship in India.

Samsung has sent out media invites for the Indian launch that is set to take place on September 12. The event will take place in New Delhi at 12:30PM IST. The invite contains an out-line of the Galaxy Note 8 and a picture of different Indian cultures, sketched with the S-Pen. Interestingly, Apple will also unveil the iPhone 8 globally on September 12.

The Galaxy Note 8 is a great smartphone from Sammy. It largely improves upon it’s sibling, the Galaxy S8 Plus. The Note 8 features a 6.3 inch Quad HD + Infinity display with Super AMOLED technology. The minimal bezels result in an incredible screen to body ratio.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 835 in the U.S and the Exynos 8895 globally. This is backed up by 6GB of RAM. The extra 2GB of RAM compared to the S8 Plus seems to help as reviewers are noticing improved performance and much better memory management compared to the S8 Plus.

The big story however is the dual camera setup that it comes with. The Galaxy Note 8 is the first smartphone from Samsung to include two camera sensors at the back. It comes with dual 12-megapixel shooters with a wide-angled lens and a tele-photo lens. The great thing here is that both the lenses have Optical Image Stabilisation. Samsung has thrown in features like Live Focus which enables the users to blur out the background thus highlighting the subject. The background bur can be adjusted even after the shot has been taken.
