Samsung is now pushing the Android Nougat update to the Galaxy A5 (2017). While only Russian units have started receiving the update now, it is expected that the update should reach all the global variants in the coming weeks. Also worth noting is that the Galaxy A7 (2017) has also been receiving the Nougat update in the past couple of days.
The Nougat update brings several changes and performance improvements to the handset. The User Interface has been tweaked a little bit and the notifications are improved. The Always On Display feature has been improved and features like Samsung Pass have been added. Also worth noting is that the multi-window feature has been improved and it now falls closer to the stock Google implementation.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) sports a 5.2 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top. It is powered by the Exynos 7880 SoC coupled with the Mali-T830MP3 GPU. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. All this is back up a decently sized 3000 mAh battery.
If you are an owner of the Galaxy A5 (2017), feel free to head to Settings -> Software update to manually check if the Nougat update is available for your device.
