Samsung has started pre-registrations for its Galaxy Note8 phablet in India. One can go to the company’s official website and register themselves right now. The phablet flagship had only been officially revealed at an Unpack event last month with a tentative shipping date sometime in September. This indicates that the Korean electronics giant values its position in the Indian market.
The Galaxy Note8 by Samsung is the successor to last year’s Note7 and follow on Note FE. The Indian edition of the smartphone will be powered by the in-house Exynos 8895 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB /128GB of internal memory which is expandable. The smartphone features a 6.3-inch “Infinity Display” built on a QHD+ (1440 x2960) resolution Super AMOLED panel. The Note8 is also Samsung’s first smartphone to come with a dual camera setup with twin 12-megapixel sensors; one being a telephoto lens and the other being a wide-angle solution. Both are also to feature Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) which is the first in any smartphone. Out of the box, the hardware is powered by a 3300mAh unit with Android v.7.x, Nougat running under Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
The Galaxy Note8 also features the quintessential S-Pen and associated software functions that set the device apart from other phablet devices. It is rumoured that the handset would be introduced at a price of ~Rs 69,900 (~$1090) and Rs 74,900 (~$1170). The smartphone is to officially launch some time post mid-September and should be available in Gold and Black colours.
