Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ last month in an “unpacked” event in New York on March 29. The phones are highly appreciated form the critics as well as tech reviewers around the world for its edgeless display which Samsung calls it as infinity display. The Samsung Galaxy S8 starts a new bezelless design language and we could see this design in future Samsung phones as well. One more interesting feature of this phone is the Virtual assistant developed in-house by Samsung, its Bixby assistant. This Virtual Assistant is same as the Google’s Assistant or Apple’s Siri. Samsung Bixby has one extra feature which is image recognition. This means that whenever we launch the Bixby Assistant while pointing towards any object, it will show relevant information about the object and even show some places where we can buy it.
This being the most exciting feature in the Samsung Galaxy S8, people were very excited to try out the Bixby assistant on the Galaxy S8. Now, we have received reports from Samsung which suggests otherwise.
Samsung speaking about the Bixby Assistant and Galaxy S8 launch in U.S explained that voice features will be available at a later date:
Key features of Bixby, including Vision, Home and Reminder, will be available with the global launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 on April 21. Bixby Voice will be available in the U.S. on the Galaxy S8 later this spring.
This news coming from Samsung is not going to please its fans one bit who were itching to get their hands-on to the Samsung Galaxy S8 to try out the Bixby Assistant and all the features it offers. Samsung has also promised to bring touch-based actions you can carry out on your phone will soon be possible using just your voice.
