Apparently, Samsung can’t make up its mind on how to make their iteration of Android look on their flagships. Nor are they sure of the name. Just last year, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge came with TouchWiz out of the box. Then came Grace UX with Nougat. And now we have Samsung Experience with the Galaxy S8. Hopefully, Samsung won’t trash this one as well.

Now, we’ve just heard that Samsung will also update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge to Samsung Experience. Now, this is to be expected as handsets much lower down the food chain have got Samsung Experience 8.1 interface like the Galaxy J5/J7 (2016) along with the Galaxy A series phones of 2017. One would think the flagship lineup would get new UX earlier than mid-rangers. Since the new UX is still not there, we did assume it will come mixed with an Android Oreo update. That’s because Samsung wouldn’t spend resources on just UX refreshes. The hint comes from a Samsung Members community admin who answered a users query. The admin

The hint comes from a Samsung Members community admin who answered a users query. The admin was asked the same thing we said above in relation to older phones getting the update. He vaguely replied by saying that the next update will include the new UX for Galaxy S7 users. This at least confirms that the update is on its way.

However, it is to be noted that Samsung Experience UX is more of a visual overhaul rather than a feature-packed update. So, if S7 and S7 Edge users care more about eye-candy than this will appeal more to them.
