Samsung’s Gear S3 is the sole competitor to the Apple Watch in a market that has failed to pick up in the recent years. Ahead of the IFA event, there are reports that its successor is just around the corner. CNBC reported that Samsung Mobile’s head told their correspondent the watch is headed to the IFA trade show for launch. The Gear S lineup has traditionally been introduced at IFA, so this is to be expected. Moreover, this would also give Samsung a head start over Apple which is to launch the next-gen Apple Watch in September. The IFA trade show starts on August 30.

Samsung earlier filed for an FCC certification of the device displayed design similar to what we have right now in the Gear S3. A smartwatch that would look much like a traditional timepiece. There isn’t much to say what specs the device will come with. And for a change, we prefer it that way. Since we haven’t yet finished with the Note 8 and Samsung had some surprises up its sleeve despite extensive leaks. We would be delighted to see some more surprises from Samsung’s locker.

Meanwhile, other reports say that Samsung isn’t planning to make do with just one wearable. Instead, it is also working on a fitness-focused wearable that will be called Gear Fit 2 Pro. The band also has leaked components stating that it will come with Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Additionally, it will have multiple-day battery performance, with GPS disabled.
