Barely a week has past after Samsung unleashed its flagships for the year in the form of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ that the company has gone on to flesh out its mid-range line. Today, the company launched the Galaxy C7 Pro in India, the device is exclusive to Amazon India and should be on sale from April 11th. The device had already been launched in China in January.
On the specification front, the Galaxy C7 Pro packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with a 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of inbuilt memory expandable via a hybrid microSD slot (up-to 256 GB). For the display the handset features a 5.7-inch full-HD (1080 x1920) Super AMOLED panel clad under a 2.5D curved glass fascia with an always-on function. Samsung has outfitted a 16-megapixel sensor on the rear with a f/1.9 aperture, PDAF support and a dual-LED flash. The front selfie snapper is the same 16-megapixel sensor as in the back. Both units can record full-HD video @30fps. To power all this hardware the company has packed a 3300mAh Li-Ion in the full-metal unibody.
On the software front the Galaxy C7 Pro is running on an older flavour of Android, v6.0.1, Marshmallow. It features a hybrid dual-SIM slot (you sacrifice a SIM slot for additional storage) and a fingerprint scanner on the home button. The smartphone also supports the recently launched Samsung Pay. To protect the display from scratches, the curved glass on top is Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4.
For connectivity and charging Samsung has outfitted the Galaxy C7 Pro with a USB Type-C connector. It also supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, NFC (to enable Samsung Pay) and a 3.5mm audio jack. The device is available in Gold, Pink Gold and Dark Blue liveries.
