A couple of days back, we reported that the successor of the Samsung Gear Fit 2 was right around the corner. Popular tipster Evan Blass had revealed some key information about the wearable including it’s specs. Now, the smart band has accidentally appeared on Samsung’s official website before the Unpacked event yesterday.
Most of the leaked specifications match up with the listing on the company’s website. The Gear Fit 2 Pro sports a curved AMOLED display with a claim of upto 4 days of battery life. The big story however is the welcome improvement to water resistance. The Gear Fit 2 Pro can now withstand upto 5 ATM pressure under water. This translates to 50 metres under water.
You can now wear the Gear Fit 2 Pro while swimming and the band can now track swimming. To help that, Samsung has also added a new Speedo app.
Apart from these, the Gear Fit 2 Pro can measure heart rate, track your running and count your steps just like it’s predecessor. The smartwatch will be powered by Tizen OS and apps can be installed from the Galaxy App Store.
The Gear Fit 2 Pro is expected to cost a little more than the Gear Fit 2 when it launched. Evan Blass has claimed that the smart band will start at $199 for the smaller variant.
