Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) front profile

Samsung is one of the Android brands with enough standing to power through the tablet market. Even though most OEM’s has had to shut shop, the Korean electronics behemoth has consistently launched a raft of devices every year in the segment. Today, one of the budget offerings, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 images showed up Slashleaks courtesy TENAA as the tablet has gotten its certification. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 GFXBench

The device has also been listed as the SM-T385C. This closely matches an earlier leaked Samsung tablet which surfaced on the GFXBench benchmark. The device that was listed on the latter had a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. It was also shown to be running Android v.7.0, Nougat likely to be under the TouchWiz UI. On the camera front, the device features an 8-megapixel shooter on the back with an LED flash in the rear while for selfies it has a 5-megapixel camera up front capable of capturing HD content. For the display, the device features an 8.0-inch HD (800 x1280) resolution panel.

The SM-T835 has also received its Wi-Fi certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance which states that the device will support Wi-Fi 802.11 up to the ac standard. This confirms dual band (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz) support and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity features. The certification was approved on the 15th of June 2017.


Apart from featuring Wi-Fi, the GFXBench listing also shows it as having Bluetooth, A-GPS and Compass sensor. All these leaks seem to indicate that Samsung will unveil the device sooner if not later in the coming weeks if not month(s).
