Samsung has taken the wraps off the Galaxy Tab A (2017) in Vietnam in a low key event. The successor to last year’s budget oriented Tab A has Black and Gold shades and costs 64,90,000 Vietnamese Dong or Rs. 18,200. It has a SIM card 4G variant and a WiFi (SM-T380) variant as well.
Samsung has improved the build quality of the budget tablet this time by using a premium metal design. This sets it apart from other affordable tablets. The Tab A (2017) has an 8-inch WXGA display with big bezels on all sides and the home button flanked by two backlit keys.
Galaxy Tab A (2017) Specs
The Tab A comes with a 1.4 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC with Adreno 308 GPU. It comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage (expandable up to 256 GB). The Tablet has an 8-inch WXGA display with HD resolution. As regards the dimensions, it measures 212.1 x 124.1 x 8.9mm and weighs 364 grams. It comes with Android 7.1 Nougat. The Tab A (2017) houses a 5,000 mAh battery.
As far as the camera is concerned, the Tab A (2017) houses an 8 MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture autofocus and LED flash. It has a 5 MP front selfie shooter. With regards to other connectivity options, users will get 4G LTE with voice calling support, WIFI a/b/g/n (2.4 + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS with GLONASS.
All in all, the new tablet has a better display, a bigger battery, and a better build quality compared to last year.

The Tab A (2017) is priced 64,90,000 Vietnamese Dong (Rs. 18,230) for the 4G version which is on sale in Vietnam. It has Black and Gold color options. There is no official word on availability in other countries.
