Last month, Samsung had made a Galaxy S8+ with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage available in China and South Korea. Initially, it looked like these would be the only two markets where you could get this flavour of the device. Now it seems the Korean electronics behemoth will make the smartphone available in India too.

For the rest of the hardware specifications, they are the same. The chipset at the heart of the handset is Samsung’s in-house Exynos 8895 housing an octa-core CPU clocked up to 2.3GHz coupled with a Mali G71-MP2 GPU. A 6.2-inch QHD (1440 x2960) AMOLED panel with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The Galaxy S8+ features a 12-megapixel sensor at the back with support for optical image stabilisation, PDAF and a dual LED flash while selfie duties are handled by an 8-megapixel sensor up front. Both camera sensors have a f/1.7 aperture for better low-light performance.

The handset will be available via Samsung’s own online store or their official e-retail partner Flipkart. This new flavour of the Galaxy S8+ will be carrying a price tag of ₹74,990, which is a ₹10,000 premium over the standard 4 GB/64 GB model. This new Samsung Galaxy S8+ variant should be up for sale by June 9th and customers are eligible for a free wireless charger.
