Samsung can now boast of one more mid-range device in its locker that runs on Android Nougat. Adding to other mid-range devices like the Galaxy J7 2016, J7 Prime, and some ‘A’ series phones is the Galaxy On Nxt. The handset that launched earlier this year had Android 6.0 Marshmallow on-board its internal storage out of the box. Of course, the update is for the Indian model like the most of the above-mentioned other models. Also, the update is for the 64GB variant, not the 32GB variant. However, that should change soon.

The OTA update will be seen of Galaxy On Nxt units with version G610FXXU1BQH8 which weighs more than 1 GB. That is why we suggest users take a good look at the free storage space before they start downloading the update. You should have at least 2 GB free. Also, right before you hit the update button, check whether the device has at least 50% charge. More than 60% is recommended. In case you want to make sure you get the update, head to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.

Android Nougat will do much to transform the UX of the Galaxy On Nxt. It will bring great features like enhanced notifications, improved Google Keyboard, split-screen, and enhanced Doze mode. Samsung has also thrown in a Dual Messenger that allows users to run two instances of one social app with different accounts. There are a lot of other great features on Android Nougat and the new update will be a breath of fresh air for Galaxy On Nxt users.
