The eighth iteration in the venerable Note line of products, the Galaxy Note8 will be succeeding last year’s explosive (quite literally) Note7. Today, fresh information regarding the Galaxy Note8’s launch was leaked by twitter tipster @UniverseIce.

According to the tweet, the flagship phablet would be launching in an exclusive event New York event, on August 26th which is just a couple of days shy of IFA which will be held from September 1st in Berlin where it was originally leaked to be launching. The Galaxy Note8 has even higher expectations, not only because it has to push ahead of its predecessors tarnished reputation but also because it would most likely be Samsung’s last major launch prior to Apple announcing their iPhone’s later this year.
