Samsung launched the J5 2016 last year which is the latest smartphone in the J5 series from Samsung. There have been rumors that the J5 2017 which is the next generation of phone from Samsung’s J5 series will be launching very soon. Today, this smartphone has been spotted by a test result on Geekbench showing off the device’s hardware as well as software. The Samsung phone with model number SM-J530FM  has to be Galaxy J5 2017 as J5 2016 carried model no. SM-J520, and it reveals quite a few specs about the device.

According to the Geekbench listing, we may see Samsung’s own octa-core processor, Exynos 7870, clocked at 1.59GHz. This is the same processor Samsung has already used to power Galaxy A3 2017. As noted from the Geekbench listing the J5 2017 comes with 2GB of RAM which hasn’t changed from last year’s J5.

It is worth noting that Samsung will be launching the budget J5 smartphone with Android 7.0 Nougat which is evident with the Geekbench listing revealing. This is a positive change on Samsung’s part and this will surely help build Company’s image of providing better support to its device.

The specifications of this device have surfaced online with the device rumored to be powered by 5.2 inch full HD IPS LCD Display, with a pixel density of 424 ppi. On the software side the phone will be powered by Android 7.0 Nougat, the rear-camera will be a 13 MP shooter with a 5 MP Front Camera, other features include 4G VoLTE, FM Radio, Fingerprint Sensor etc. The VoLTE support in the device will surely be a good feature to be included in the device with the widespread usage of 4G network in India. The pricing details of this smartphone have not been known yet. We will keep you updated as we know more on this.
