Samsung has announced a new budget smartphone, the Galaxy J3 Pro. The smartphone is priced at Rs.8,490 and will be exclusively sold on Paytm Mall starting April 6. The smartphone is available in three colour varients namely gold, black and white.
The Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro features a 5-inch Super Amoled HD display. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core CPU coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage which can be expanded to 128GB via micro SD.
Samsung says that the smartphone has been “Made in India”. It also includes features like an Ultra Data Saving(UDS) Mode and S-Bike Mode. Samsung claims that the UDS feature will help customers to save upto 50% mobile data costs.
This is what Sandeep Singh Arora, Vice President of Online Business, Samsung India had to say:
This is the first time Samsung is launching an online exclusive product, Galaxy J3 Pro, on Paytm Mall. Galaxy J3 Pro delivers powerful performance, outstanding display and also packs in consumer centric features developed at our R&D centers in India. This launch will give Paytm Mall consumers the opportunity to buy ‘Galaxy J Series’ which is the largest selling range in India.
As for optics, the smartphone features an 8MP rear camera with single LED flash and a 5MP front camera. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung’s UI on top. This is surprising as Lollipop is quite dated today. It includes connectivity features like Dual SIM, 4G LTE, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, GPS/GLONASS, NFS, Bluetooth 4.1 and a micro USB Port.
Vijay Shekar Sharma, Founder and CEO of Paytm said:
