Samsung has launched a new smartphone to compete in the budget market. The Galaxy J2 (2017) is available in India for Rs. 7,390 and is available through Samsung’s website in Metallic Gold and Absolute Black finishes. The smartphone sports a few features like an Ultra Data saving mode that will save upto 50% data and a Smart Manager that will detect and delete duplicate images and more to provide more storage.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) features a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 540×960 pixels. It is powered by an Exynos SoC which is a quad core chipset clocked in at 1.3GHz. This is backed up just 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board which can be expanded further via a microSD card. Fuelling the handset is a 2000mAh battery. The smartphone will most likely come with Android Nougat and this is disappointing as Android Oreo supports Android Go for smartphones with 1GB of RAM.
As for cameras, there is a 5MP sensor on the rear followed by a 2MP selfie shooter. Basic connectivity options like 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPRS and GPS are present.
