Samsung has officially started sending out press invites for an Unpacked event to be held in New York on 23 August. It is likely that the company plans to reveal the much-anticipated Galaxy Note8 range of phablets.

The image on the invite is very reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S8 range launch that was used earlier. Although a major difference is in the orientation of the invite. The image also disproves the theory that the Note8 would have had a larger forehead bezel than the chin. It also means that the upcoming phablet flagship will most likely feature an Infinity Display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 or higher.

The device is supposed to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 /836 or Samsung’s in-house Exynos 8895 SoC depending on which region you live in and it would be complemented with 4GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The device is likely to share more than just the design aesthetic of the Galaxy S8 range of smartphones with a glass frame around an all metal unibody design. This will allow the smartphone to most likely sport an IP68 ingress rating.

Apart from all this, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 is likely to feature a dual-camera setup, a first for any flagship device from the Korean electronics behemoth.
