OPPO is one of the major players in the Chinese smartphone market. Currently the brand has pivoted onto providing the best camera phones on the market. They have also been trying to establish themselves in other emerging markets like India, where they have been aggressively pushing their camera-focussed devices with monikers such as “Selfie Expert” for their F1S handet.
Recently it had emerged that OPPO would be refreshing the line-up with a reveal date of the 23rd of March. The new handsets are the F3 and F3 Plus with the major differentiator being the screen size. In a recent tip-off to GizChina it seems that the price for the F3 has been revealed for the Indian market.
Apparently the OPPO F3 would retail around ~₹30,000 which puts it into contention against devices like the One Plus 3 and 3T. This is a high price even for the hardware packed inside the handset which is running on an older flavour of Android. But it might be offset by the presence of a dual-front camera package which is not at all common in the Indian market and no brand has introduced such a feature on any of their handsets.
The hardware of the OPPO F3 Plus was detailed by a recent leak on GFXBench and should carry over to the younger sibling which only differs in the display-size. The heart of the handset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 SoC coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The device is also tipped to have a 15-megapixel rear and frontal sensor package with a f/1.7 aperture with no details on the secondary front camera. Finally the F3 plus is rocking a full HD 6-inch display while the younger sibling will have a smaller 5-inch full HD display.
