There is some interesting news folks! Razer has confirmed that it will be releasing it’s first smartphone on November 1. For those unaware, Razer is known for the gaming laptops they produce and hence we can expect a solid gaming smartphone from the company. It is worthy to note that Razer had acquired Netbit some time back and technically the Nextbit Robin was the company’s first smartphone.
The Razer smartphone has been spotted on GFXBench with top notch specifications. Powering the device is the top-of-the line Snapdragon 835 SoC which is clocked in at 2.4GHz coupled with 8GB of RAM. This is backed up by the Adreno 540 GPU, which fully supports Vulkan API and DirectX 12. Given these beastly specs, the gaming performance should be great.
The device will feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. This means that the aspect ratio is standard 16:9 and hence do not expect a bezel-less design. This again indicates that Razer is only focusing on gaming. The Razer phone will come with 64GB of on-board storage which will be expandable via a microSD card. As for optics, a 12MP rear camera is expected apart from an 8MP selfie shooter.
We are really excited to see that Razer is joining the smartphone game. Stay tuned for the full coverage after the phone launches on November 1.
