Aju Business Daily reports that Qualcomm will once again be partnering with Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics to develop their next generation chipset. The chipset is believed to be called Snapdragon 845, although the name is still subject to change. The said chipset will be based on 10nm process and will have an improved performance than its predecessor while also consuming less power.

It’s unclear where Qualcomm hopes to improve on this upcoming chipset compared to the current Snapdragon 835, which is already significantly faster than some of the company’s former chips. However, it’s likely that the company will continue to focus on extracting more performance as well as making everything more efficient, leading to better battery life. The Snapdragon 845 will also include enhancements for VR and AR technology which is very common nowadays.

Like it’s predecessor, Snapdragon 845 will debut on Samsung’s 2018 flagship, the Galaxy S9. Although it is not clear which company will manufacture the said chipset, it is more likely be between Samsung or TSMC with the latter has already been in contract to mass produce Apple’s A11 chipset starting this April.
