There has been rumours of Qualcomm and Samsung Electronics working on next generation Snapdragon 845. The chipset is said to debut on Samsung’s next flagship phone for the year 2018 and expected to bring more improvements of the current chipset, the Snapdragon 835. But it seems like Samsung will not just be the first to use the chipset as recent report suggests that LG is also partnering with Qualcomm to house the powerful chip under the hood of their flagship devices.
The report came from The Investor, citing the Korean News site Aju Daily as the source without providing a direct link to the exact article. Aju Daily is also the same source of the Qualcomm-Samsung partnership report the circled the internet last month. This is actually a good news for LG fans as Samsung hoarded all the available Snapdragon 835 last month in favor of Galaxy S8 leaving LG no choice but to use the soon to be year old Snapdragon 821 for their current flagship, LG G6. This could mean competition for the two Korean tech giant next year.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 is said to undergo a 7nm process rather than the 10nm technology the recent reports suggested. Improvements will focus mainly on performance and energy efficiency of the chip albeit rumours also hints that the yet unconfirmed chip will bring enhancements for AR and VR technology. We expect to hear more of these this coming months.
Whilst its too early for Galaxy S9 leaks for now, LG G7 sketches already surfaced online giving artists a chance to bring the device to life. Below is a video of LG G7 concept by Concept Creator which he claims to be based on the latest leak.
