Google Pixel 2 XL

Earlier, reports had claimed that the Pixel launcher would be tweaked a little for the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL. Now, from two images posted by popular tipster Evan Blass, the complete front of the Pixel 2 XL has been exposed. This not only gives us an idea of how the device will look like but also shows the layout of the home screen.

There are two major changes that can be observed. Firstly, the Google search bar has been relocated from the top of the screen to the bottom of the home screen. This is possibly due to the ease of accessing it given the massive display the Pixel 2 XL sports( expected to be 6 inches). The first change paves way for the second observable difference.

A new widget can be found on the top of the home screen that displays the user’s appointment apart from showing the weather. This is a really neat addition as previously the user had to access the Google Now cards to get to know about his/her appointments. The widget also blends in with the wallpaper seamlessly.

Talking about the physical structure, the image confirms that a bezel-free display is indeed happening. This was very much required from Google as other competitors like Samsung, LG and Apple have already implemented it. A secondary speaker at the bottom can also be found. This confirms previous rumours that claimed that both the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL would sport stereo speakers.

Google will announce these devices on Wednesday. Apart from the Pixel 2 and the Pixel XL 2, many other products are expected to be announced including a possible Ultra Pixel, an iPhone X competitor.
