Oppo’s upcoming F5 is the first thin bezel phone by the company set to launch on October 26. We’ve had a good look at leaked HD images of the phone from many angles and we definitely like what we see. The handset is supposed to succeed the Oppo F3 as a selfie-focused phone. Moreover, this time the device will come to India a lot earlier, we’ve learnt. Oppo has started sending invites for the launch event set for November 2 in Mumbai.
The media invite follows announcements by Oppo that the F5 will definitely be launched in global markets including Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, and India.
Now, that that’s out of the way, let’s talk a bit about the device. Obviously, it is the first thin-bezel phone with an 18:9 aspect ratio from Oppo. The tagline “Capture the real you” in the invite also suggests this phone will possess better selfie shooting qualities. Oppo is said to have packed in AI-powered Beauty Recognition tech for great looking selfies. The phone was expected to sport dual front camera’s but new images don’t show two lenses. This might mean that there are two variants of the phone.
Talking about other hardware, the Oppo F5 will adorn a 6-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2880×1440 pixels. At the moment, speculation suggests a Snapdragon 660 to be on board the device with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage.
The rear camera will have a 20 MP sensor while the front will boast a 16 MP pair of shooters. Oppo will likely endow the handset with a 4000 mAh battery and Android Nougat.
