OPPO had launched its R11 series handsets a day earlier than their intended launch date but did not give us the price on them. The company addressed this by releasing the information in a sponsored musical concert, yesterday. The OPPO R11 and R11 Plus would be the first smartphones bearing Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 660 chipset.
The base OPPO R11 is priced at ¥2,999 (~$440) while a special Heat Red variant of the device will retail for ¥3,199 (~$470). To recap the R11 features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080 x1920) resolution AMOLED display and comes with 4 GB RAM. The handset is provisioned with a 3000mAh non-removable battery to power the hardware. The larger OPPO R11 Plus features a 6.0-inch full-HD AMOLED display has a price tag of ¥3,699 (~$545). The R11 Plus gets 6 GB of RAM vis-á-vis the younger sibling which just has 4 GB. The larger chassis also allows for a 4000mAh battery unit to be fitted into the handset.

Both the smartphones feature the same SoC at their heart, the Snapdragon 660, 64 GB of internal storage, OPPO’s proprietary VOOC fast charging technolgy and feature dual rear cameras; composed of one 16-megapixel SONY IMX398 sensor with a f/1.7 aperture and a 20-megapixel SONY IMX350 sensor with a f/2.6 aperture outfitted with a telephoto lens. The similarities extend to the 20-megapixel selfie camera up-front with a f/2.0 aperture. Both the R11 smartphones also introduce the latest version of ColorOS, v.3.1 which is based on Android v.7.1.1, Nougat.
