If you’ve been too busy to see the bucket load of Oppo A79 leaked pics yesterday, here is the official launch that took place yesterday. Oppo has now announced the smartphone which has been extensively covered in leaks in the past week. If you are confused, this is a dumbed down Oppo F5 basically. It has the same design with a smaller battery and a different selfie lens shooter.

We’ve already mentioned the handset has a completely identical design to the Oppo F5, so we won’t elaborate on that further. However, we do feel obligated to point out the spec sheet differences.

The latest bezel-less handset from Oppo has a big 6.01-inch AMOLED display with a 401 ppi. The MediaTek Helio P23 chip is tasked to carry the workload and do the number crunching work on the handset. It is assisted by 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage (expandable up to 128 GB). Reasonably, it runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Color OS 3.2 UX theme.

The photography department is in the hands of a single 16 MP rear shooter with f/1.8 aperture. Also, the front shooter has the same MP count but with an f/2.0 aperture. Oppo has equipped the phone with a somewhat inadequate 3,000 mAh battery.

Finally, the Oppo A79 carries a price tag of RMB 2,399 (~Rs 23,500) and will be sold starting December 1st in China. The handset will be available in three colour choices: black, champagne gold and blue.
