OnePlus rolls out Oxygen OS 4.5.5 for OnePlus 5 via OTA

Since the launch of the OnePlus 5, it has been receiving updates frequently. Updates were focused on removing bugs, other fixes and camera improvements. Today OnePlus released another update for the OnePlus 5, Oxygen OS 4.5.5. To be honest, it’s a bit of a hassle to update your device frequently. However according to OnePlus, the 4.5.5 update is an important one.

It will improve Wi-Fi connectivity, clearer voice calling, less battery consumption along with other improvements and bug fixes. Users were reporting issues such as the Wi-Fi signal always being shown as weak or no connectivity with a Windows10 PC. OnePlus has fixed those issues along with other issues. We have provided a changelog of the 4.5.5 Oxygen OS update below:

Optimizations
o Improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity
o Clearer voice calling
o Video recording now consumes less battery
o Vibration intensity while incoming calls is now tweaked to a gentler level
Bug fixes
o Fixed Wi-Fi signal consistently being displayed as weak
o Fixed certain apps not able to work under IPv6 network settings
o To restore connectivity to a Windows 10 PC, please turn off USB debugging prior to the upgrade

I cannot stress more on the fact that updates take time to be available on every OnePlus 5 device. Updates are allocated according to the regions respectively. But considering the history, OnePlus is very fast when it comes to providing updates. If some OnePlus 5 owners did not receive the update yet then no need to worry. The Oxygen OS 4.5.5 will be available for your device shortly.
