OnePlus Referral Program
OnePlus Referral Program

OnePlus has always been the company which relies on word-of-mouth marketing campaigns rather than spending big money on marketing its products to attract the customers. OnePlus launched its first smartphone, the OnePlus One on this strategy as well. OnePlus One was available on an invite-only basis where the customer who had bought the smartphone earlier would receive an invite to share for the other customer to buy the phone. This strategy, however heavily criticized, proved to be a blessing in disguise for the company as this helped them market their smartphone for free. This strategy of invite-only sales was dropped with the OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus 3/T.

We have also seen in the recent past that OnePlus has signed up the Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan for campaigning its smartphones with the OnePlus 3T to start and it is expected that the superstar would be used to promote the OnePlus 5 in India. However, the company has now launched a referral program on its website, oneplus.net. The referral program states that owners of OnePlus smartphones will be able to share a unique referral link of their own to friends and family, and earn rewards when anyone makes a purchase through OnePlus store using that link.

The offer is such that if your friend uses your referral link to purchase a OnePlus smartphone, they’ll receive $20 off on any accessory available on the OnePlus store. And you’ll receive 100 referral points in your referral hub within 30 days. You’ll be able to spend those referral points in the referral hub, which will be constantly updated with new stuff like accessories, discount on a new phone or exclusive OnePlus gears.

The most interesting aspect of the program is that you’re eligible to get into the referral program if you’ve ever purchased a OnePlus smartphone through the official OnePlus store. Do note that this program is not for the Indian users as the official OnePlus store in India is oneplusstore.in . OnePlus has not announced any plans for its Indian store as of now but we will keep an eye out for such offers.
