OnePlus 5

A few weeks earlier, we reported that the Android Oreo update was rolling out to the OnePlus 3 BETA participants and it was mentioned that the BETA builds for the OnePlus 3T and the OnePlus 5 were expected very soon. And now, the OnePlus flagship has been spotted on GeekBench running Android Oreo.

The Geekbench listing confirms the handset running Android Oreo. However, OnePlus has not revealed any beta software as such for the Oreo build. The company may well be testing out the software in-house.

The OnePlus 5 has turned out to be an extremely successful smartphone in 2017. The device sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Optic AMOLED technology. It is powered by the top of the line Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with the Adreno 540 GPU. It comes in two configurations i.e 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM and 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3300mAh battery with support for Dash Charging.

It houses a dual camera setup at the rear consisting of a 16MP primary lens and a 20MP telephoto lens. This implementation provides 2X loss-less zoom and features like Portrait Mode. The smartphone currently runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

OnePlus have always been very good at delivering software updates, considering how close Oxygen OS is to Stock Android.

We will keep you posted as we learn more about the Oreo update for the OnePlus 5.
