OnePlus has finally announced the reveal date for its highly anticipated OnePlus 5 smartphone. In an official tweet, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the much-anticipated handset will be unveiled on June 20. This was later spotted on the official OnePlus Twitter (below) account as well.

Like all prior OnePlus launches it is likely to be live-streamed at 12:00 PM EDT (09:30 PM IST). Apart from this, the company is holding pop-up events at various locations across the globe. The highlight is most likely to be an event held in New York which will have OnePlus founder Carl Pei and popular YouTube personality MKBHD in attendance. The complete list of cities hosting these events has been listed here on the launch page along with the times and any notables who will be attending.

The OnePlus 5 is this year’s hotly anticipated handset from the NEVER SETTLE company. It would be featuring Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 835 SoC. Several contradictory images of the handset have surfaced on the web but the latest images show it looking a lot like an iPhone 7 (thanks to the dual cameras on the back). The company is even trying to draw attention to these with the launch poster stating “Focus on What Matters”, which could also be a play by them to hype the camera which has been developed in conjunction with DxOMark.
