OnePlus has just released a brand new OTA update for the OnePlus 3T/3 duo. The update comes under the Beta program that has been pumping out regular updates to the two devices. Some have been bug fixes. This one brings some new eye-candy related features.
The Oxygen OS Open Beta 23 (Beta 14 for new 3T) brings a change to the default color profile and switches it to match the alternative sRGB mode. This will render more accurate colors but at the sacrifice of vibrancy. In a sense, this might fix the color inaccuracy issue haunting the two phones but the decrease in sharp colors might deter users from using it.
OnePlus also adds “Shot on OnePlus” watermark to photos by default with this new update. However, this can be turned off. There are some more minor tweaks that oil up the UX and stability of the software. For example some changes to the Contacts app and the Ambient Display. Under the hood, changes include a more stable Parallel apps experience, GPS accuracy improvement for Weather, and loading times improvements for the Gallery app.
There are still some more changes the full changelog of which will be linked here.
The update should roll out to users enrolled in the Open Beta program. Since this is an OTA, it might take some time to reach our device.
