The news that Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge + owners have been waiting for is finally here. According to reports, the nougat update for the S6 trio is being rolled out now by AT&T with the June 2017 security patch. AT&T were the first one to release the Android Nougat update for the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge +.

We were expecting a release of the Android Nougat update for the S6 trio because the the Galaxy S7 series have already acquired the Nougat update. Due to the given history of Samsung’s strategy towards sending latest updates to it’s devices. It was safe to assume that the Galaxy S6 series will also be awarded with the Nougat update.

Till now only AT&T have started rolling out the OTA Nougat update for the Galaxy S6 series devices. Soon other carriers and customers living in different regions will start getting the update notification on their devices. If owners of the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge + are not receiving the Nougat update yet then please be patient.

Usually updates are released with different dates according to the regions. Sometimes US would have the update sooner and Europe would benefit a bit later. Nevertheless, the Android Nougat update will be available for your Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and the S6 Edge + soon.

I have had my Nougat on Sprint version of S6 Edge + for over two months. Sprint has been very good at updating my phones over the years.
