If there is one thing that most of the Android fans worldwide are waiting to be unwrapped before the year ends, its the killer flagship smartphone from Nokia/HMD. Nokia is known to create and implement interesting new technologies on their smartphones even from the beginning and many fans are excited to what the new Nokia will bring to our tables on it’s renaissance era.
While everyone expect the new flagship to be called Nokia 9, a Chinese website CNMO on the other hand believes that the new flagship device will be called Nokia 8. The website shows a photo of what looks like a leaked Nokia/HMD marketing material in China. Of all the leaks we have seen in the past two months, this is the oddest among all. Albeit the device features a curved infinity display, which is something we have seen from prior leaks, the placement of the rear-facing camera is vertically positioned at the top-left on the back of the device. There will also be a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-Type C for fast charging and data transfer and an iris scanner but without any signs of physical fingerprint sensor.
Nokia 8 (9) Rumoured Specifications:
- 5.3-inch QHD curved OLED display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 835
- 6GB/8GB of RAM
- 64GB/128GB/256GB of ROM
- 13MP Carl Zeiss dual (RGB+Monochrome) rear-facing camera
- 13MP front-facing camera
- IP68 water and dust resistant
- MicroSD Card Support
- Iris Scanner
- Fingerprint Scanner
Honestly, it is hard to tell if these materials are fake or real. So as we always advised, take everything with a grain of salt. While the first photo looks legit (and a stunner), the second photo looks odd and not something that Nokia would want their phones to look like. Yes, we know they have a “weird” design taste, but this odd looking renders is not like the complimentary “weird” that Nokia is known for. I hate to say this, but it looks like it was made by a dying YouTube channel.
