Nokia, the company which is now managed by HMD Global had launched the Nokia 3,5 and 6 at the MWC in Barcelona. The company also launched the refreshed version of the classic Nokia 3310. We have not seen anything from Nokia in terms of release of their new phones in other parts of the world. But, Nokia has already launched the Nokia 6 in China. The company had promised at the MWC that the Nokia 6 will receive the Android Nougat update to the phone soon. Keeping its promise, Nokia has now been releasing the Android Nougat 7.1.1 update for the Nokia 6.

The Nokia phone is receiving the update via an OTA (over-the-air) update. We have also known that the update is arriving with the build 00CN_3_170, the update is 369MB in size and brings along a bunch of new features to the smartphone.

First change with the new update which users will notice is that the phone now runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat so you should now be able to utilize launch actions on apps that support shortcuts right from the home screen, express yourself better with the new set of emojis and many more new features.

This update also installs the April’s security patch on the smartphone which gets rid of security vulnerabilities and brings along bug fixes and overall system improvements. This update also helps Nokia 6 to offer support for 4G/3G dual-SIM dual-standby. For more changes, Nokia 6’s new update also seems to have updates for the Nokia USB driver and preloaded apps.
