Lenovo seems to be expanding Motorola’s smartphone range even more than the leaked roadmap we saw earlier in the year. All the smartphones that were to be released according to the roadmap have been revealed so it is quite a surprise that a new MOTO device has surfaced on TENAA.
The smartphone which was spotted on the Chinese smartphone certification board’s site was listed as the MOTO XT1799-2. It has even received official certification from TENAA and might be released shortly in China and other APAC regions.
On the design front, the smartphone follows in the footsteps of other Motorola handset released this year. There is a lozenge shaper fingerprint scanner which will no dout double up as a navigation /miniature gesture support.
The MOTO XT1799-2 is listed with a SoC with a dual-core processor clocked at ~1.5GHz. This is complemented with 3GB /4GB of RAM and 32GB /64GB of internal memory. This is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). It sports a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080 x1920) IPS display panel. The device comes with an 8-megapixel rear shooter featuring auto-focus support and an LED flash. Selfie duties are also handled by an 8-megapixel sensor. Powering all this hardware is a 2810mAh battery unit while out of the box it is running on Android v.7.1.1, Nougat.
The MOTO XT1799-2 would come with 4G LTE support but that is really all we know about the smartphone. It does not seem to fit any particular release segment of teases that Lenovo had done at earlier conventions and it might surprise quite a few folks out there.
The MOTO XT1799-2 will be available shortly in the Silver, Black and Pink finish. These are from images posted on TENAA.
