Motorola already launched the Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus at the MWC in Barcelona last month. Now, the company has launched the Moto G5 Plus at an event in India at a starting price of Rs. 14,999. The company has already announced that the Moto G5 Plus will be a Flipkart-exclusive product and the sale of the phone starts from Wednesday midnight. The Moto G5 Plus smartphone will come in two different colour variants: Lunar Grey and Fine Gold

In India, the Moto G5 Plus smartphone will launch in two variants: One with a combination of 3GB RAM and 16GB storage and the other variant with a combination of 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. The 3GB+16GB variant will go on sale in India at a price of Rs. 14,999 and the 4GB+32GB variant will cost Rs. 16,999. Both the variants will be available in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold as well.

The company has also included some exciting launch offers in partnership with Flipkart to boost the sales of the smartphone. The smartphone’s launch offers include an additional Rs.1,500 discount on exchange; additional 10 percent discount on SBI cards; no-cost EMIs starting at Rs. 1,889 a month, and the Moto Pulse 2 headset – which costs Rs. 1,299 – can be purchased at discounted price of Rs. 599. Flipkart is also offering a BuyBack Guarantee for the smartphone, where users will be assured of a fixed exchange discount of Rs. 7,000 for their Moto G5 Plus for up to 8 months after purchase.

As far as the design and the specifications of the phone are concerned, the Moto G5 Plus is the first Moto G series smartphone to feature an all metal diamond-cut high-grade aluminium 6000 build. The smartphone has dual-sim functionality, runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, and has a separate microSD card slot – letting users insert two SIM cards and one microSD card simultaneously. It also has a fingerprint sensor which doubles as a home button.

The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 2GHz Snapdragon 625 Octa-core chipset and is powered by either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. In the camera department, the Moto G5 includes a 12-megapixel rear camera, complete with dual autofocus pixels, 4K video recording, an f/1.7 aperture, and dual-LED flash. The front camera is a 5-megapixel camera shooter with an f/2.2 aperture and a wide-angle lens. Onboard storage, either 16GB or 32GB, is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).

Moto G5 Plus connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Bluetooth v4.2, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB. The Moto G5 Plus battery capacity is 3000mAh. It is non-removable, and the company is touting TurboPower charging will provide six hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope. It weighs 155 grams and measures 150.2x74x9.7mm.

The company is emphasizing on the design, build quality and the camera performance of the smartphone. The Moto G5 Plus comes with a Micro-USB port rather than a USB-type C port and doesn’t have a LED indicator for notifications. The sale of the Moto G5 Plus starts on Flipkart from Wednesday, 11:59 pm IST.
