Motorola has been on a launching spree since the launch of its MOTO G5 range in March. The Lenovo company has launched a bunch of entry-level smartphones but still needs to flesh out its high-end and mid-range offerings. To this end, the company is already teasing a late-July event in New York which we think would either see the MOTO X4 be released or the MOTO Z2 /Z2 Force. Now the latter has shown up on AnTuTu bearing model number XT1789-05.

MOTO Z2 Force AnTuTu benchmarks

This listing on AnTuTu confirms a lot of the hardware the handset packs, so let us get right into it. The chipset of the heart of any major flagship these days is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835, in the MOTO Z2 Force, it has been complemented by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. The listing also tells us that the handset will ship with Android v.7.1.1, Nougat out of the box. On the camera front, the device is listed with a 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensor. Since we know that the primary shooter at the back of the device is a dual-camera affair we cannot be 100% sure if these are the sensors on the back or the benchmark is getting confused. What we can speculate is since the MOTO Z2 Force ForcePlay launched with a 5-megapixel sensor up front, the same is the case here with there being twin 12-megapixel sensors at the back.

The XT1789-05 packs a QHD (1440 x2560) display but AnTuTu does not mention the display size which is likely to be at least a 5.5-inch AMOLED panel.

Since earlier rumours showed the MOTO Z2 Force Force packing only 4GB of RAM coupled with 64GB of RAM it is speculated that either there will be two MOTO Z2 devices launched or there are two different SKU’s planned for the East and West market. The Motorola MOTO Z2 Force had recently been leaked in the colours of AT &T which shows the OEM breaking from its past trend of launching only on Verizon. We shall be getting more details on the flagship MOTO smartphone as we draw closer to the 25 July event.
