We have recently heard about the company behind Windows, Microsoft releasing a new update to the Windows 10 operating system which was released last year by the company. Microsoft has announced that the Windows 10 OS will get a new update called as Windows 10 Creators Update. This update is scheduled to come for all those people who have enrolled for getting the Insider updates to Windows 10.

Today, Microsoft released some bad news for the older devices running the Windows 10 update and wanting to get the Windows 10 Creators Update. There are currently more than 400 Million users running Windows 10 on desktop or laptop worlwide and they will still be able to update their devices to the latest update. Note that the list published by Microsoft is limited to mobiles running Windows 10. Microsoft has announced that some of the older devices running Windows 10 will no longer be supported by the company. Speaking at the event, Windows and Devices Group software engineer, Dona Sarkar has revealed Windows 10 Creators Update for Windows phones will be pushed-out on April 25th 2017.

Speaking about the list of eligible devices, Microsoft has confirmed only 13 handsets will be eligible for the Windows 10 Creators Update. The only smartphones capable of running Windows 10 Creators Update when it launches are – HP Elite x3, Microsoft Lumia 550, Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL, Microsoft Lumia 650, Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, Alcatel Idol 4S, Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL, SoftBank 503LV, Vaio Phone Biz, MouseComputer MADOSMA Q601, and Trinity NuAns NEO.

There is however, a workaround for older devices running Windows 10 to get this new update. Microsoft announced that Windows Insiders running beta versions of Creators Update on devices not included in the list will be able to continue to run the software. But they will not get support from the company anymore. Do let us know how you feel about Microsoft’s announcement. Stay tuned for more news on this.
